Derived from a Lusoga word, “Twegaite” symbolizes the spirit of “coming together.” Established in 1998 in New Jersey as a 501(C)3 Nonprofit organization, Twegaite International is a platform and inspiration that upholds, treasure, and rejoices in the deep-rooted legacy of the Basoga, their friends, and the entire Busoga region.
Our purpose spreads beyond mere festivities. Annually, we proudly present the Twegaite Convention, a worldwide nexus for Busoga enthusiasts. This event brings together attendees globally, turning into a melting pot of cultural immersion and tradition exchange. Furthermore, the convention provides a distinct networking stage where attendees rekindle past ties and establish fresh bonds. The underlying theme and collaborative endeavors for the socio-economic upliftment of not just Busoga but the expansive Ugandan nation.
In its core, Twegaite International is a thriving community, a close-knit family, and a dynamic force committed to the preservation of our culture, tradition and general heritage, nurturing relationships, and charting a prosperous path for both Busoga and the greater Uganda.
